  • Stack Monitor:

Helps detecting RAM corruption caused by the stack growing large and overwriting component variables. This component can calculate the maximum used stack space and the minimum size between the end of the data segment and the stack. If RAM corruption is detected, then it automatically freezes the component and displays a status on the LEDs.

ROM: 282 bytes, RAM: 4 bytes
    Platform: tinyos-1.1.3
Dependencies: none (part of the tinyos-1.1.3 distribution)

  • Time Stamping:

Allows obtaining the time of arrival and transmission of radio messages with average 1.2 microsecond accuracy. It also supports embedding time stamps into messages.

ROM: 172 bytes, RAM: 12 bytes
    Platform: tinyos-1.1.3, MICA2 or MICA2DOT platforms
Dependencies: none (part of the tinyos-1.1.3 distribution)

  • Diagnostic Messages:

Allows generating diagnostic radio messages containing formatting information that can be automatically displayed on a laptop connected to a TOSBase with a generic java program (net.tinyos.tools.PrintDiagMsgs).

ROM: 422 bytes, RAM: 137 bytes
    Platform: tinyos-1.1.3
Dependencies: none (part of the tinyos-1.1.3 distribution)

  • Big Messages:

Allows sending large chunks of measurement data (thousands of bytes) back to the base station reliably (one hop). A java program can reassemble the data and save it to a file.

ROM: 378 bytes, RAM: 66 bytes
    Platform: tinyos-1.0
    Dependencies: none

  • Clap Detectol:

Periodically samples the microphone and if a clap is detected it signals an event.

ROM: 404 bytes, RAM: 6 bytes
    Platform: tinyos-1.0
    Dependencies: none
